Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Thriffie. By creating an account you accept them. We have kept them short and specific rather than long and defensive.

1. Who we are, and what Thriffie is

Thriffie is operated by [COMPANY NAME] OÜ, registered in Estonia under registry code [REGISTRY CODE].

Thriffie is a marketplace, not a shop. We connect people who want to sell second-hand items with people who want to buy them. We do not own, inspect, store or ship anything listed here. The contract of sale is between the buyer and the seller directly — we are not a party to it.

This distinction matters. It means the seller, not Thriffie, is responsible for the item being as described.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 17 years old.
  • Give accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One person, one account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

3. Selling

When you list an item, you confirm that:

  • You own it and have the right to sell it.
  • Your description and photographs are honest. Photograph the actual item, and disclose damage, wear or defects.
  • The item is legal to sell and to own in Indonesia.
  • You will hand it over promptly once it is paid for.

You may not list: counterfeits or replicas, weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, live animals, protected wildlife or products made from it, prescription medicines, stolen goods, adult content, anything requiring a licence you do not hold, or anything prohibited by Indonesian law.

4. Buying

  • Read the description and look at the photographs before you buy.
  • Ask the seller if anything is unclear — that is what messaging is for.
  • Confirm receipt once the item arrives and you are satisfied.
  • Buying is a commitment. Do not buy or make an offer unless you intend to go through with it.

5. Delivery

Thriffie does not deliver anything. We give you the pickup and delivery addresses so you can arrange a courier — typically Grab Express — between yourselves.

  • The buyer books the courier and pays the courier directly.
  • Any agreement about the item during transit is between you, the other party and the courier. Thriffie is not responsible for loss or damage in transit.

6. Payments

Online payments are not yet live. Thriffie does not currently process or hold money. While the marketplace is in this stage, buyers and sellers must settle payment between themselves, and any wallet balance shown in the app is a record only, not funds we are holding for you.

Because we never receive the money, we cannot reverse, refund or withhold it. If something goes wrong with an order we can mediate between you, suspend an account and remove a listing — but the payment itself is a matter between buyer and seller. Agree the method before the item moves, and do not pay for an item you have not agreed terms on.

When online payments launch we will update these terms and tell you before the change takes effect.

7. Fees

Thriffie currently charges no fees. No commission on sales, no listing fee, no buyer service fee. Sellers keep the full sale price.

We may introduce a fee in future. If we do, we will announce it in advance, and it will apply only to sales made after it takes effect — never retroactively.

Courier costs are separate and are paid by the buyer directly to the courier.

8. Rentals

Listings in the Rentals category are enquiry-only. There is no checkout, no payment and no order through Thriffie. You contact the host through messaging and arrange everything — viewing, terms, deposit, payment — directly with them.

Thriffie takes no payment, holds no deposit and is not party to any rental agreement.

9. Disputes between users

If something goes wrong with an order, talk to the other person first — most problems are misunderstandings and are solved in a message.

If that fails, you can raise a dispute from the order page. We will look at it and try to help. But please be clear about what that means: we can mediate, we can suspend accounts, and we can act on the platform. We cannot compel anyone to refund or return anything, because we are not a party to the sale.

10. Conduct

Do not:

  • Harass, threaten, deceive or discriminate against other users.
  • Post false, misleading or plagiarised listings, or photographs that are not of the actual item.
  • Manipulate prices, or use multiple accounts to do so.
  • Scrape the site, or attempt to bypass its security.
  • Use Thriffie for anything illegal.

We may remove listings, suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

11. Your content

Your photographs and descriptions remain yours. By posting them you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute them for the purpose of operating and promoting the marketplace. That licence ends when you remove the content, except where we are required to keep a record.

12. Our liability

Thriffie is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, or that every listing is genuine.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the quality, safety or legality of items, for whether a user completes a transaction, or for loss arising from dealings between users.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by [Estonian] law. Where you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings there.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Thriffie after that means you accept the updated terms.
