Leaving Bali? Leave something good behind.
Every week, guests fly out of Bali leaving behind things that are perfectly good and completely useless to them at the airport. Most of it ends up in a bin because selling it takes time nobody has on their last day. One box in your lobby changes where it goes.
A guest is leaving
They have clothes, a fan, a kettle, maybe a surfboard — things they can't fly home with and have no time to sell in the two days they have left.
It goes in the box
One box in your lobby or storage room. No app, no account, no questions at checkout — they drop it in on the way out.
You list it as Free
Photo, one line, done — it takes under a minute per item. The listing says Free, so there is no price to set and no payment to handle.
Someone collects it
Whoever claims it arranges pickup with you directly. We are working on partnerships with local organisations so that what nobody claims still reaches people who need it — that part is not running yet, and we'll say so here when it is.
Goes in the box
- ·Clean clothes, shoes and bags
- ·Household items: fans, kettles, lamps, kitchenware
- ·Sports gear and bikes
- ·Books, toys, unopened toiletries
Does not
- ·Anything broken, stained or past repair
- ·Electrical items that don't work
- ·Medicines, supplements, opened cosmetics
- ·Large items — surfboards, furniture — by arrangement first
What you need
A Thriffie box. We make them and bring them to you — tell us how many you need and where. The box is yours to keep and is charged at what it costs us to make, nothing on top.
It comes with a sign, so guests know what it is for without anyone at reception having to explain. Put it somewhere they walk past on the way out — by the door beats in the store room.
After that it is a bit of floor space and about a minute per item to put it up. No fee to join, no contract, no minimum.
Whether you sell the better pieces or give everything away is entirely your call — Thriffie takes no commission either way. We are starting with a handful of places in Canggu and Pererenan rather than the whole island, so the first few partners get our full attention.
